About the clinic:

The Ibn Sina specialised clinic, formerly known as  Avicenne clinic, was acquired (right of use of the business) by the National Social Security Fund on 10 July 1974. It was independently managed until 1985, when it was transferred to the Algiers health sector. In 1993, it was attached to the CNAS agency of the wilaya of Algiers.

Missions of the clinic:

The Ibn Sina Clinic treats ENT (ear, nose and throat) disorders. As part of efforts to improve the quality of care provided to insured individuals and patients in healthcare facilities, the Ibn Sina Clinic has undergone a complete renovation programme. To this end, it has also benefited from a programme to renew and modernise its medical equipment.

Organisation:

The clinic occupies two (02) floors, offering the following services:

Floor 01: Contains:

A reception and orientation area, an administrative area, 03 consultation rooms, an examination room, and an infirmary.

Level 02: Contains:

An operating bloc (including an outpatient surgical room and a recovery room with a capacity of three (03) beds, a sterilisation and storage room for surgical instruments, a hospitalisation service containing four patient rooms, each with a capacity of three beds, an infirmary, an office, and a pharmacy for supplying medical services with medical products and devices.

Equipment:

The clinic has recently been equipped with a ventilator, an electric syringe pump, an otology kit, a motor and drills, Moore knives, a monitoring device, recovery beds, and hospital beds.

A medical fluid network and antistatic flooring (operating theatre) were installed as part of the clinic’s renovation.

Activities:

The clinic provides several services such as ENT (ear, nose and throat) consultations, anaesthesia/resuscitation consultations, ear, nose and throat surgery, ear, nose and throat examinations: nasofibroscopy/microscopic examinations and various nursing care (ear washing/aerosol).

Surgical activities:

The clinic offers the following surgical activities:

  • Outpatient surgery: adenoidectomy, tonsillectomy (children and adults), transtympanic drainage, tongue tie, cavum biopsy, sebaceous cysts, lipomas and sublingual lithiasis.
  • Surgery with hospitalisation: septoplasty, Caldwell Luc, nasosinus polyposis, nostril cyst and amygdaloid cyst.

Surgical procedures are performed by three ENT (ear, nose and throat) specialists, including one locum and one resuscitation specialist, assisted by thirteen paramedics. To transport its patients, the clinic has had a fully equipped ambulance since 2007.
